The Nature of Positive Touch video, developed as part of a federal grant, is now available. The video is designed to present a philosophy of relating to young children through touch.
A variety of benefits of touch are covered in the video. Some benefits include positive effects on brain development, promoting growth and development in premature infants, and providing additional ways to relate to and interact with children with special needs.
Four basic positive touch strokes are demonstrated in the video. These are included as strategies parents can use to expand the way they interact with their children. In addition to clearly demonstrating these strokes, examples of how parents have built their use into regular daily routines is included.
